{"id":36309,"date":"2019-08-06T09:26:30","date_gmt":"2019-08-06T01:26:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=36309"},"modified":"2019-08-06T09:26:32","modified_gmt":"2019-08-06T01:26:32","slug":"russia-eu-trade-in-goods-83-billion-deficit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=36309","title":{"rendered":"Russia-EU Trade in Goods: 83 Billion Deficit"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p> BRUSSELS, Aug 6 (NNN-Prensa Latina) At the end of 2018, the European Union (EU) ran a trade deficit with Russia of 83 billion, the Statistical Office of the European Union (Eurostat) reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As reported by Eurostat, a trade deficit between the two economies has prevailed in the last decade, which was highest in 2011 at \u00e2\u00e9\u00ac93 bn and lowest at \u00e2\u00e9\u00ac46 bn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While the EU exported \u00e2\u00e9\u00ac85 bn to Russia during the past year, it imported from Russia a total of \u00e2\u00e9\u00ac168 bn, Eurostat added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>EU exports to Russia were dominated by machinery and vehicles, chemicals and other manufactured products, which together accounted for 90 percent of EU exports to Russia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>EU imports from Russia were dominated by primary goods (72%), mainly energy, raw materials, and food and drink.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On a more detailed level, medicines were the EU&#8217;s most exported product to Russia, while the most imported product from Russia were poil derivatives, noted Eurostat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Russia was the EU&#8217;s third-largest trading partner for imports (8 percent of total extra-EU imports) and the fourth-largest for EU exports (4 percent of total extra-EU exports)in 2018. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>NNN-Prensa Latina <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>BRUSSELS, Aug 6 (NNN-Prensa Latina) At the end of 2018, the European Union (EU) ran a trade deficit with Russia of 83 billion, the Statistical Office of the European Union (Eurostat) reported.
