REUTERS\/Dado Ruvic\/Illustration\/File Photo<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>NEW YORK, April 22 (NNN-Bernama-Xinhua) &#8212; The US dollar increased in late trading on Tuesday, Xinhua reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, went up 0.3 per cent&nbsp;to 98.393 at 3 pm&nbsp;(1900 GMT).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In late New York trading, the euro decreased to US$1.1726 from US$1.1782 in the previous session, and the British pound was down to US$1.3482 from US$1.3536 in the previous session.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The US&nbsp;dollar bought 159.59 Japanese yen, higher than 158.87 Japanese yen of the previous session. The US&nbsp;dollar climbed to 0.7821 Swiss francs from 0.7786 Swiss francs, and was up to 1.3673 Canadian dollars from 1.3643 Canadian dollars.
