{"id":323267,"date":"2026-01-27T17:03:08","date_gmt":"2026-01-27T09:03:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=323267"},"modified":"2026-01-27T17:08:33","modified_gmt":"2026-01-27T09:08:33","slug":"mongolia-sees-measles-cases-spike-to-13989","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=323267","title":{"rendered":"Mongolia Sees Measles Cases Spike To 13,989"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>ULAN BATOR, Jan 27 (NNN-APA) &#8211; Mongolia registered 22 new cases of measles infection over the past 24 hours, bringing the national caseload to 13,989, according to the country&#8217;s National Centre for Communicable Diseases (NCCD), today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, 56 people remained in hospital, including five critically ill children, the NCCD said, in a statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Dec 30, the NCCD said, Mongolia&#8217;s measles death toll had reached 12, after one more related death was registered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Therefore, the NCCD advised parents to protect their children from a potentially severe disease, by getting them two doses of the measles vaccine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Measles is a highly contagious viral disease, transmitted by respiratory droplets and direct contact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Common complications include fever, dry cough, runny nose, sore throat and inflamed eyes.
