It is also expected to generate over 376 billion dollars of net revenues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The agreement reflects&nbsp;<strong>&#8220;the strengthening of Libya&#8217;s relations with its largest and most influential international partners in the global energy sector,&#8221;<\/strong>&nbsp;Dbeibah said on X.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Libyan prime minister also revealed that the country\u2019s oil output reached its highest level in 12 years in 2025, climbing to 1.37 million barrels per day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&#8220;We will do our best to bring in the green fields and then also to focus on the brown fields as part of the production enhancement and hopefully by getting both going simultaneously, we&#8217;ll be able to increase the oil production,&#8221;<\/strong>&nbsp;said Bachir Brahim Bazzazi, the first adviser to the managing director of TotalEnergies\u2019 Libyan subsidiary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The government also signed a memorandum of understanding with \u200dUS oil giant Chevron and a cooperation agreement with Egypt&#8217;s oil ministry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last year also saw Libya launch\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.africanews.com\/2025\/03\/03\/libya-to-hold-first-oil-exploration-bidding-round-in-17-years\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>its first oil and natural gas exploration licensing round in 17 years.<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0Results from this exploration should be announced in February, according to Dbeibah. &#8212; NNN-AFRICANEWS<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>TRIPOLI, Jan 27 (NNN-AFRICANEWS) &#8212; Libya signed a 25-year oil deal with France&#8217;s\u00a0TotalEnergies\u00a0and US-based ConocoPhillips, involving more than 20 billion dollars of foreign investments, Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah said during the Libya \u200cEnergy and Economy Summit in Tripoli.
