{"id":31904,"date":"2019-07-09T11:10:40","date_gmt":"2019-07-09T03:10:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=31904"},"modified":"2019-07-09T11:13:19","modified_gmt":"2019-07-09T03:13:19","slug":"archaeologists-discover-3000-year-old-philistine-town-in-southern-israel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=31904","title":{"rendered":"Archaeologists Discover 3,000-Year-Old Philistine Town In Southern Israel"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>JERUSALEM, July 9 (NNN-MA&#8217;AN) &#8211; Israeli and Australian archaeology researchers discovered, in the south of Israel, the ancient Philistine town of Ziklag, dated to 3,000 years ago, said a report by the Israel Antiquities Authority (IAA). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ancient site, near the modern city of Kiryat Gat, was exposed by researchers from the IAA, the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and Macquarie University in Sydney.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Evidence of the Philistine settlement was found at the archaeological site, including huge stone structures, with artefacts typical of the Philistine culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among the discoveries were bowls and oil lamp. They were placed under the floors of the structures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, a rural village from the time of King David was discovered, above the remains of Ziklag.
