MEXICO CITY, Sept 15 (NNN-EFE) — Claudia Sheinbaum, president of Mexico, presented her government report in San Luis Potos\u00ed, highlighting social advances and regional development, with a 79% of popular approval, according to a recent Enkoll survey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Public support that surpasses that of her predecessor Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador in the same period. However, insecurity, with 51% of respondents identifying it as the main problem, remains the greatest challenge, despite the reduction in the homicide rate reported by its administration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The handling of the relationship with the United States also reflects a clear position of citizenship. Although 68% of Mexicans approve the handing over of drug capos to US authorities, 60% strongly reject the idea that foreign agents operate within the national territory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among the main achievements of Sheinbaum\u2019s management, citizenship highlights social supports and policies in favor of women\u2019s rights, which have more than 78% support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The government fulfilled 26 of the 100 campaign commitments, including mandatory social security for application workers and popular vote election of judges. However, the fight against corruption is an open area, with almost half of respondents believing that there is no progress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The president begins her second year with the support of Morena, the party with the most ideological support in the country (45%), which makes it easier to push important reforms. Among these reforms, the electoral one stands out, which seeks to reduce funding for parties and eliminate multi-member legislators, with broad popular support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sheinbaum, currently on a nationwide accountability tour, seeks to consolidate his direct connection with the people. The tour, in which he has visited several states to present his government\u2019s regional achievements, will culminate on October 5 in a major event at the Z\u00f3calo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
