{"id":271281,"date":"2024-07-19T11:45:33","date_gmt":"2024-07-19T03:45:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=271281"},"modified":"2024-07-19T11:54:25","modified_gmt":"2024-07-19T03:54:25","slug":"malaysias-exports-up-1-7-percent-in-june","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=271281","title":{"rendered":"Malaysia&#8217;s Exports Up 1.7 Percent In June"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>KUALA LUMPUR, Jul 19 (NNN-BERNAMA) &#8211; Malaysia&#8217;s exports rose 1.7 percent year-on-year, to 126.05 billion ringgit (27.02 billion U.S. dollars) in June, official data showed, yesterday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI), said in a statement that, the export growth was contributed mainly by higher demand for machinery, equipment and parts, liquefied natural gas (LNG), as well as, palm oil-based manufactured products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In June, exports of manufactured goods, which represented 87.1 percent of total exports, expanded by one percent to 109.74 billion ringgit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Malaysia&#8217;s imports for the month also increased by 17.8 percent year-on-year, to 111.76 billion ringgit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, Malaysia&#8217;s trade in June grew 8.7 percent year-on-year to 237.81 billion ringgit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As for the first half, Malaysia&#8217;s exports climbed 3.9 percent to 731.11 billion ringgit, while imports jumped 13.8 percent to 664.99 billion ringgit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Overall, the country saw its trade for the first half expand by 8.4 percent to 1.4 trillion ringgit.
