{"id":267612,"date":"2024-06-21T16:07:20","date_gmt":"2024-06-21T08:07:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=267612"},"modified":"2024-06-21T16:07:21","modified_gmt":"2024-06-21T08:07:21","slug":"ecuador-celebrates-ratification-of-trade-agreement-with-costa-rica","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=267612","title":{"rendered":"Ecuador celebrates ratification of trade agreement with Costa Rica"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img src=\"https:\/\/www.plenglish.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Ecuador-Costa-Rica-Banderas-1-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-235961\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>QUITO, June 21 (NNN-PRENSA LATINA) &#8212; Ecuador celebrated the ratification by Costa Rica of a bilateral trade agreement that will promote investments and generate thousands of jobs, authorities reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Ecuadorian Foreign Ministry announced on X that the Costa Rican president, Rodrigo Chaves, signed the law that ratifies the Trade Association Agreement with Ecuador in the presence of the Ecuadorian ambassador in San Jos\u00e9, Bol\u00edvar Torres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Torres highlighted that this agreement will constitute a great tool for both countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the Ecuadorian Executive, the agreement will generate a 10 percent growth in current exports, which should increase income by three million dollars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They also highlighted that it will improve the competitiveness of canned and preserved fish, metal manufactures, wooden boards, medicines, shrimp, white goods, porcelain and sanitary ceramics, leather, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, the agreement excludes products such as beef, dairy products, pineapple, cassava, sugar, unroasted coffee, among others, of which Costa Rica is an important exporter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On March 1, 2023, Chaves and Guillermo Lasso, who was president of Ecuador at the time, signed the treaty that both countries then considered a milestone for the bilateral relationship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The agreement also has the approval of the Ecuadorian Constitutional Court, which in August 2023 asked to renegotiate some points, which were corrected in November, last year. &#8212; NNN-PRENSA LATINA<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>QUITO, June 21 (NNN-PRENSA LATINA) &#8212; Ecuador celebrated the ratification by Costa Rica of a bilateral trade agreement that will promote investments and generate thousands of jobs, authorities reported.
