{"id":260717,"date":"2024-04-15T10:47:10","date_gmt":"2024-04-15T02:47:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=260717"},"modified":"2024-04-15T10:47:11","modified_gmt":"2024-04-15T02:47:11","slug":"peru-interior-ministry-eradicates-more-than-3000-hectares-of-illegal-coca-crops","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=260717","title":{"rendered":"Peru: Interior Ministry eradicates more than 3,000 hectares of illegal coca crops"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img src=\"https:\/\/portal.andina.pe\/EDPfotografia3\/Thumbnail\/2024\/04\/13\/001055227W.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>LIMA, April 15 (NNN-ANDINA) &#8212; Less than two months after starting its work, the\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.gob.pe\/mininter\" target=\"_blank\">Interior Ministry<\/a>&#8216;s\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.gob.pe\/corahperu\" target=\"_blank\">Special Project for Control and Reduction of Illegal Crops in Alto Huallaga (Corah)<\/a>\u00a0eradicated 3,012.78 hectares of illicit coca leaf crops in Ucayali, Huanuco, and Pasco regions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to\u00a0Corah&#8217;s latest report, these works were carried out on\u00a0<strong>1,142 plots of the operational axes of Constitucion in Puerto Inca province (Huanuco region); and Tamaya in Coronel Portillo province (Ucayali region).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a result of these actions against the criminal drug trafficking chain,\u00a0<strong>the production of 28.14 metric tons of cocaine hydrochloride was prevented.<\/strong>\u00a0It represents a progress of 12.5% towards the annual goal set at 25,000 hectares of illegal crops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These actions by the Corah Project specialists team rely on the support<em>\u00a0<\/em>Peruvian National Police Anti-Drug Directorate members, whose joint work have also made it possible to\u00a0<strong>locate and destroy so far five rustic illegal drug production laboratories.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\u00a0<strong>elimination of illegal coca leaf crops is part of the National Anti-Drug Policy by 2030<\/strong>, led by the Interior sector, headed by Minister Walter Ortiz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As is known, Ortiz stressed that the program&#8217;s objective is\u00a0&#8220;to reduce the chain of production and illicit trade of narcotics in the country, a task on which we will continue to work strongly.&#8221; &#8212; NNN-ANDINA<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>LIMA, April 15 (NNN-ANDINA) &#8212; Less than two months after starting its work, the\u00a0Interior Ministry&#8216;s\u00a0Special Project for Control and Reduction of Illegal Crops in Alto Huallaga (Corah)\u00a0eradicated 3,012.78 hectares of illicit coca leaf crops in Ucayali, Huanuco, and Pasco regions.
