BANGKOK, Jan 9 (NNN-Bernama) —\u00a0Thailand’s Prime Minister\u00a0Srettha Thavisin\u00a0has denied any hidden agenda in the resignation of three ministers as\u00a0Pheu Thai party-list members of parliament\u00a0(MPs)\u00a0but continue\u00a0on\u00a0with\u00a0their duty in the Cabinet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said the resignation of the three MPs \u2013 Deputy Prime Minister Somsak Thepsutin, Transport Minister Suriya Juangroongruangkit, and Digital Economy and Society Minister Prasert Chantararuangthong \u2013 would not affect the government\u2019s undertakings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cInstead, this (resignation as MPs) would allow them to fully focus on their duty as members of the Cabinet,\u201d he said in a statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On Sunday, Deputy Prime Minister and Commerce Minister Phumtham Wechayachai said three cabinet ministers of Pheu Thai Party will resign as party-list MPs to focus on their ministerial work. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Their seats would be filled by other Pheu Thai\u2019s party list candidates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Phumtham explained there was no plan to request other ministers to give up their party-list seats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
