WASHINGTON, Nov 4 (NNN-ANDINA) — The\u00a0Ministry of Foreign Affairs\u00a0<\/a>has reported that a meeting between\u00a0Peruvian President Dina Boluarte<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0United States counterpart Joe Biden<\/a>\u00a0was held “without the protocol that characterizes bilateral meetings.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to a communiqu\u00e9,\u00a0this bilateral meeting between both leaders “was confirmed on October 30 by the White House and reconfirmed as of last night, November 2.”<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“<\/strong><\/em>This (gathering) was not carried out under the protocol that characterizes bilateral meetings because, following the meeting of all presidents and their delegations with the\u00a0Secretary of the Treasury of the United States<\/a>, in accordance with the agenda, times fell short,”<\/strong>\u00a0<\/em>the release indicated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“However, prior to the\u00a0Americas Partnership for Economic Prosperity (APEP)<\/a>\u00a0Summit meeting today, November 3, President Boluarte and President Biden were able to talk about issues that interest both countries, such as migration and the fight against drug trafficking, among others,”<\/strong>\u00a0it added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After that conversation, both top officials walked together towards the White House auditorium where the\u00a0APEP<\/a>\u00a0Summit was held. At the site, the other presidents and delegations were already waiting for them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
