KUALA LUMPUR, April 29 (NNN-BERNAMA) — Malaysia-based The Dance Company (TDC) has inked an agreement with the St Petersburg Theatre Russian Ballet to jointly organise the Asian World Premiere for the classic, original title \u2018The Sleeping Beauty\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This will be the legendary Russian Ballet\u2019s first ever performance in Malaysia, and will also be the first \u2018The Sleeping Beauty\u2019 performance in Asia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The two-day show beginning Oct 12 will take place at the Plenary Hall, Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Kuala Lumpur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
TDC will bring \u2018The Sleeping Beauty\u2019 by the world-renowned ballet troupe with a full team of 33 Russian ballet dancers to showcase their talent in executing the technically challenging choreography.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2018The Sleeping Beauty\u2019 is a real masterpiece of the Russian Ballet that was choreographed by the iconic Marius Petipa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The music is composed by the famous Russian composer, Pyotr Tchaikovsky.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2018The Sleeping Beauty\u2019 in Malaysia continues the long and great tradition of Russian classical ballet from what most would consider of being the Russian ballet\u2019s golden age and will be performed in its most original choreography.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Russian Centre of Science and Culture director, Dr Ayrat A. Akhmetov said: \u201cI believe productions such as \u2018The Sleeping Beauty\u2019 by the St Petersburg Theatre Russian Ballet jointly organised by Malaysia\u2019s The Dance Company enables our countries to build stronger ties with each other through the culture exchange.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
