The latest report issued by the\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/met.igp.gob.pe\/elnino\/enfen\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\">Multisectoral Commission in Charge of the National Study of El Ni\u00f1o Phenomenon (Enfen)<\/a>\u00a0indicates that there is a 77% chance that Coastal El Ni\u00f1o would continue until summer 2024, especially in the Ni\u00f1o 1+2 region, which comprises the Peruvian sea&#8217;s northern and central parts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this regard, Enfen says that the\u00a0<em><strong>Coastal El Ni\u00f1o Alert<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0remains active, adding that the most likely magnitude of this event in autumn 2023 would be strong to moderate, while its magnitude in winter is likely to be moderate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Finally, the most likely magnitude in summer 2024 will be moderate to weak.<br><br>In the statement, Enfen also refers to\u00a0<strong>El Ni\u00f1o event at the global scale<\/strong>, noting that, according to its analysis based on data observed to date, as well as forecasts from international weather centers, a higher probability of the occurrence of El Ni\u00f1o in the Central Pacific region (Ni\u00f1o 3.4 region) persists as of June.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As of now,\u00a0&#8220;the magnitude of this event until September is more likely to be weak, with a tendency to become intensified by the end of the year,&#8221;\u00a0the multisectoral commission underlined.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the other hand, it states that the range of possibilities include a 82% chance of a weak-to-moderate El Ni\u00f1o by the summer of 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Enfen analysis confirms what the\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/public.wmo.int\/en\" target=\"_blank\">World Meteorological Organization (WMO)<\/a>\u00a0and the United States\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.noaa.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\">National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)<\/a>\u00a0previously reported and agreed that El Ni\u00f1o event is likely to be experienced starting June and would be settled in as months pass by.<br><br>In light of an El Ni\u00f1o event, Enfen projects\u00a0<strong>rains slightly above normal along Peru&#8217;s northern and central coastal regions<\/strong>, which may be characterized by the occurrence of localized rains and drizzles, respectively, between June and August 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, steady air temperatures will remain unchanged, above normal, along the coast. &#8212; NNN-ANDINA<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>LIMA, June 2 (NNN-ANDINA) &#8212; The Coastal El Ni\u00f1o phenomenon is settling in all over Peru as time passes by.
