{"id":217592,"date":"2023-04-08T11:56:30","date_gmt":"2023-04-08T03:56:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=217592"},"modified":"2023-04-08T11:56:30","modified_gmt":"2023-04-08T03:56:30","slug":"malaysian-ringgit-to-experience-technical-correctiontrading-at-4-40-4-41-vs-us-dollar-next-week","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=217592","title":{"rendered":"Malaysian ringgit to experience technical correction,trading at 4.40-4.41 vs US dollar next week"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>By Nurunnasihah Ahmad Rashid<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>KUALA LUMPUR, April 8 (NNN-Bernama) &#8212; Malaysian ringgit\u00a0is expected\u00a0to experience some technical correction in the coming days, trading in the range of 4.40 to 4.41\u00a0against the US dollar, an economist\u00a0said.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bank Muamalat Malaysia Bhd chief economist and social finance Dr Mohd Afzanizam Abdul Rashid said&nbsp;the ringgit is already at an overbought position from the technical chart, implying that some correction is quite likely in the near term.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the meantime, the Non-Farm Payroll (NFP) employment report is expected to show a lower reading, suggesting that the US Federal Reserve (Fed) will pause the interest rates hike decision at the next Federal Open Market Committee meeting on May 2-3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHowever, should the NFP report be higher than what the market expected, there is a tendency for the US dollar to get stronger as the Fed will likely continue to deliver a 25 basis point&nbsp;hike in May.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe same could also be true if the NFP is lower than anticipated.
