{"id":210235,"date":"2023-02-10T09:44:04","date_gmt":"2023-02-10T01:44:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=210235"},"modified":"2023-02-10T09:44:05","modified_gmt":"2023-02-10T01:44:05","slug":"peru-ppp-accumulates-investment-worth-over-us34-billion-in-20-years","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=210235","title":{"rendered":"Peru: PPP accumulates investment worth over US$34 billion in 20 years"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img src=\"https:\/\/portal.andina.pe\/EDPfotografia3\/Thumbnail\/2021\/04\/03\/000762802W.jpg\" alt=\"Photo: Authority for Reconstruction with Changes of Peru\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>LIMA, Feb 10 (NNN-ANDINA) &#8212; Investments worth more than US$34 billion in strategic sectors such as sanitation, ports, and electricity, among others, are the accumulated positive impact of the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) mechanism over the past 20 years in Peru,\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.gob.pe\/institucion\/proinversion\/funcionarios\/77357-jose-antonio-salardi-rodriguez\" target=\"_blank\">Private Investment Promotion Agency (ProInversion) Executive-Director Jose Salardi<\/a>\u00a0has reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The official announced that the\u00a0<em><strong>promoting entity expects to award PPP projects worth US$3 billion this year<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0\u2014mainly concentrated in sectors such as\u00a0<em><strong>energy, sanitation, health, transportation, and real estate.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During his speech at the\u00a0<em><strong>National Convention of Mayors<\/strong><\/em>, organized by the\u00a0<strong><em>Association of Municipalities of Peru (AMPE)<\/em><\/strong>,\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.gob.pe\/institucion\/proinversion\/funcionarios\/77357-jose-antonio-salardi-rodriguez\" target=\"_blank\">Salardi<\/a>\u00a0also highlighted the\u00a0<strong><em>development opportunities existing at the national level thanks to mechanisms<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0such as:\u00a0<em><strong>Proyectos en Activos (Projects in Assets)<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em><strong>Obras por Impuestos (Works for Taxes)<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.gob.pe\/institucion\/proinversion\/funcionarios\/77357-jose-antonio-salardi-rodriguez\" target=\"_blank\">ProInversion executive-director<\/a>\u00a0specified that\u00a0<em><strong>during the past 15 years public investment has been decentralized through Works for Taxes,<\/strong><\/em><strong> worth over S\/6.4 billion (over US$1.665 billion)<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong><em>thus benefiting more than 20 million Peruvians.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this regard, the\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.gob.pe\/institucion\/proinversion\/funcionarios\/77357-jose-antonio-salardi-rodriguez\" target=\"_blank\">ProInversion head<\/a>\u00a0encouraged those mayors present at the event to\u00a0<em><strong>identify projects under these modalities supported by technical and decentralized advice from the entity.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He indicated that the promoting entity has nine decentralized service points and an itinerant team specialized in providing advice, knowledge transfer, and capacity building to authorities and subnational officials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.gob.pe\/institucion\/proinversion\/institucional\" target=\"_blank\">ProInversion<\/a><em>\u00a0promotes private investment through Public-Private Partnerships, Projects in Assets, and Works for Taxes for their incorporation into public services, public infrastructure, assets, projects, and State-run companies\u00a0<\/em>\u2014<em>in accordance with its powers.<\/em> &#8212; NNN-ANDINA<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>LIMA, Feb 10 (NNN-ANDINA) &#8212; Investments worth more than US$34 billion in strategic sectors such as sanitation, ports, and electricity, among others, are the accumulated positive impact of the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) mechanism over the past 20 years in Peru,\u00a0Private Investment Promotion Agency (ProInversion) Executive-Director Jose Salardi\u00a0has reported.
