KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 17 (NNN-Bernama) —\u00a0Three\u00a0more bodies have been recovered on Saturday at a campsite in\u00a0Malaysia\u00a0that was struck by a landslide a day earlier, taking the death toll to 24.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The bodies were that of a woman in her 30s, a boy aged two to three, and a girl.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Inspector-General of Police Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani said so far, seven children are confirmed to have died in the landslide tragedy at the Fathers\u2019 Organic Farm camping site in Batang Kali, a popular hilly area about 50 km north of Kuala Lumpur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAs stated previously, once all the victims have been found, investigations will proceed immediately. However, this doesn\u2019t mean there is no investigation going on right now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI have instructed Selangor (state) Criminal Investigation Department chief SAC Baharudin Mat Taib to head the probe into the landslide,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A Bernama survey of the landslide area found the weather to be cloudy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The landslide, which occurred at 2.42 am on Friday, resulted in a section of a ravine measuring almost 300 metres long and 70 metres high crashing onto the campsite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As of 4.05 pm Saturday, 61 out of the 94 victims have been found, 24 have been confirmed dead and nine more are still missing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
