{"id":191114,"date":"2022-09-13T17:40:58","date_gmt":"2022-09-13T09:40:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=191114"},"modified":"2022-09-13T17:40:59","modified_gmt":"2022-09-13T09:40:59","slug":"malaysia-to-procure-new-covid-19-vaccine-for-elderly-children-with-chronic-diseases","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=191114","title":{"rendered":"Malaysia to procure new COVID-19 vaccine for elderly, children with chronic diseases"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>PUTRAJAYA, Sept 13\u00a0(NNN-Bernama) &#8212; Malaysia&#8217;s\u00a0Ministry of Health (MOH) will procure a new variant of the COVID-19 vaccine, especially for children with chronic diseases and the elderly, said Minister Khairy Jamaluddin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He added that the vaccine will be administered free of charge, but not to all groups as the coronavirus situation in Malaysia is under control.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cA decision on this procurement will be announced later along with the vaccines for children under five,&#8221; he told a press conference Tuesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Khairy,&nbsp;the vaccines will be administered in government and private health facilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To kick-start the vaccination process, the ministry had asked the Public Health and Paediatric Departments to provide data on patients with comorbidities and high-risk children in the country, he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThese data will be collected in the MOH\u2019s database.
