{"id":190668,"date":"2022-09-10T17:14:07","date_gmt":"2022-09-10T09:14:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=190668"},"modified":"2022-09-10T17:14:07","modified_gmt":"2022-09-10T09:14:07","slug":"eib-strengthens-engagement-in-southeast-asia-and-pacific-region","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=190668","title":{"rendered":"EIB strengthens engagement in Southeast Asia and Pacific Region"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>JAKARTA, Sept 10 (NNN-Bernama) &#8212; European Investment Bank (EIB) has opened its Southeast Asia and the Pacific regional representation office here to speed up financial support for high-impact investment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the bank, it will prioritise financing for Southeast Asia\u2019s \u20ac2.6 billion worth of projects in the pipeline such as&nbsp;climate action, urban transport, healthcare, energy security and sustainable projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIn Indonesia alone we\u2019re ready to invest up to \u20ac1 billion&nbsp;in projects each year,\u201d EIB vice-president Kris Peeters, who is in charge of bank operations in Southeast Asia, said in a statement today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>EIB has invested \u20ac625 million in energy, urban transport, climate action, rural infrastructure, urban development and transport projects in Indonesia, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam and the Philippines so far.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>EIB Jakarta office follows the decision of the EIB\u2019s shareholders &#8211; the 27 European Union member states &#8211; to strengthen the bank&#8217;s international presence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8212; NNN-BERNAMA<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>JAKARTA, Sept 10 (NNN-Bernama) &#8212; European Investment Bank (EIB) has opened its Southeast Asia and the Pacific regional representation office here to speed up financial support for high-impact investment.
