{"id":186697,"date":"2022-08-08T09:22:48","date_gmt":"2022-08-08T01:22:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=186697"},"modified":"2022-08-08T09:28:32","modified_gmt":"2022-08-08T01:28:32","slug":"26-afghan-drug-addicts-reintegrated-with-families-after-recovery","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=186697","title":{"rendered":"26 Afghan Drug Addicts Reintegrated With Families After Recovery"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>PUL-E-KHUMRI, Afghanistan, Aug 8 (NNN-ANA) &#8211; A total of 26 drug addicts rejoined their families, after treatment in a rehabilitation centre, in the northern Baghlan province, head of the province&#8217;s counter-narcotics department, Mawlawi Mohammad Nabi, said, yesterday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The former addicts were brought together at the provincial capital city, Pul-e-Khumri, before being hospitalised and achieving a recovery within 45 days, the official said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Former addict, Mohammad Asif, a student of political science in the northern Takhar province, with a six-year heroin smoking history, expressed happiness over his recovery, and called on the authorities to provide job opportunities for people like him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Provincial police spokesperson, Mawlawi Shir Ahmad Burhani, told reporters that, police will continue to round up addicts and send them to rehabilitation centres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Currently there are reportedly more than three million drug addicts in the country.
