{"id":182194,"date":"2022-07-03T18:38:18","date_gmt":"2022-07-03T10:38:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=182194"},"modified":"2022-07-03T18:38:18","modified_gmt":"2022-07-03T10:38:18","slug":"malaysian-minister-expects-cpo-prices-to-stay-firm","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=182194","title":{"rendered":"Malaysian minister expects CPO prices to stay firm"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>ALOR GAJAH (Melaka, Malaysia), July 3 (NNN-Bernama) &#8212; Crude palm oil (CPO) prices are not expected to fall below RM4,500 (US$1,021)\u00a0a tonne, said Malaysian Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister\u00a0Zuraida Kamaruddin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She said that CPO prices were&nbsp;expected to drop by the end of the year but this had occurred earlier as a result of Indonesia\u2019s palm oil export ban and the Russia-Ukraine conflict.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe price of palm oil has not dropped to previous levels of RM2,500 (RM1 = US$0.23), but as expected, the norm would be between RM4,500 and RM5,000&nbsp;a tonne&nbsp;and we are in that phase&nbsp;now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis is what I had expected, that&nbsp;the new norm would be between RM4,500 and RM5,000&nbsp;a tonne.
