Pray for ease in his daily living,&#8221; the family tweeted using Musharraf&#8217;s Twitter handle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The family said he is not on ventilator support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The statement followed rumours on social media that the former president had passed away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Musharraf seized political power in a military coup in 1999 and served as Pakistan&#8217;s president from 2001 to 2008.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He left Pakistan in March 2016 for Dubai to seek medical treatment and has been outside the country since then.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8212; BERNAMA<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Shakir Husain NEW DELHI, June 11 (Bernama) &#8212; Former Pakistan military ruler Pervez Musharraf, aged 78, is battling for his life in a hospital.
