{"id":166667,"date":"2022-03-04T08:27:58","date_gmt":"2022-03-04T00:27:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=166667"},"modified":"2022-03-04T08:34:31","modified_gmt":"2022-03-04T00:34:31","slug":"india-pakistan-discuss-issues-under-indus-water-treaty","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=166667","title":{"rendered":"India, Pakistan Discuss Issues Under Indus Water Treaty"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>NEW DELHI, Mar 4 (NNN-PTI) &#8211; Delegations from India and Pakistan, discussed issues under the Indus Water Treaty (IWT), during a meeting of the Permanent Indus Commission (PIC), said the Indian Foreign Ministry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The three-day meeting, which concluded yesterday, was held in Pakistan&#8217;s Islamabad, during which &#8220;technical discussions were held, regarding on-going projects, including Pakal Dul, Kiru and Lower Kalnai,&#8221; according to a statement issued by the ministry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The PIC, comprising of Indus commissioners of India and Pakistan, discussed &#8220;the exchange of hydrological and flood data,&#8221; the statement said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Both the commissioners reaffirmed their commitment to interact more frequently, in an attempt to resolve issues through bilateral discussions under the treaty,&#8221; it added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>PIC also agreed to hold the next meeting &#8220;in New Delhi on mutually convenient dates,&#8221; it said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Post-partition of the subcontinent water-sharing was a major problem between India and Pakistan.
