{"id":165089,"date":"2022-02-22T12:11:57","date_gmt":"2022-02-22T04:11:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=165089"},"modified":"2022-02-22T12:11:57","modified_gmt":"2022-02-22T04:11:57","slug":"malaysia-looking-at-setting-up-palm-oil-logistics-hub-in-egypt","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=165089","title":{"rendered":"Malaysia looking at setting up palm oil logistics hub in Egypt"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>By Shakir Husain<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>NEW DELHI, Feb 22 (NNN-Bernama) &#8212; Malaysia is looking at setting up a palm oil logistics and marketing hub in Egypt to boost its commodities exports to Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Egypt is keen to work with Malaysia to develop a palm oil storage, distribution and marketing facility catering to neighbouring markets, Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister Zuraida Kamaruddin told Bernama in New Delhi on Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;They (Egypt) want to be a hub in that region. We can develop it with the private sector&#8217;s participation,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Malaysian minister is on a four-day working visit here since Feb 20.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The idea fits with Malaysia&#8217;s efforts to tap new markets for its major commodity exports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Malaysia in January set up Commodity Integrated Marketing Company in Jeddah to grow palm oil, timber and rubber exports to Saudi Arabia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Similar companies may be set up in new locations in Central Asia, South Asia and East Asia, Zuraida said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We will focus on Egypt in the second phase,&#8221; she added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8212; NNN-BERNAMA<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Shakir Husain NEW DELHI, Feb 22 (NNN-Bernama) &#8212; Malaysia is looking at setting up a palm oil logistics and marketing hub in Egypt to boost its commodities exports to Africa.
