SINGAPORE, Oct 22 (NNN-Bernama) — A Malaysian man was among the 16 more people who died from complications due to COVID-19 infection in Singapore on Oct 21.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The man is a Work Permit holder, according to the republic\u2019s Ministry of Health (MOH) in its nightly data update.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The remaining 15 cases, the ministry said 11 were male Singaporeans and Permanent Residents and four were female Singaporeans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
All the cases were aged between 61 and 93 years, said MOH.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Among them, the ministry said eight had been unvaccinated against COVID-19, one had been partially vaccinated and seven had been vaccinated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
MOH said 15 of them had various underlying medical conditions, while a vaccinated case had no known medical conditions. With the new cases, the republic recorded a total of 280 deaths so far.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Singapore also reported 3,439 new daily cases of COVID-19 infection on Thursday, thus bringing the total caseload to 162,026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
From the total, 2,937 were detected in the community, 500 in the migrant worker dormitories and two imported cases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As of Oct 20, 84 per cent of the population here had completed their full regimen\/ received two doses of COVID-19 vaccines, and 85 per cent had received at least one dose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In its last update, the republic\u2019s Multi-Ministerial Taskforce said the Stabilisation Phase will be extended for another month through November 21 as more time is needed to stabilise the continuing pressures on its healthcare system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
