KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 8 (NNN-Bernama) — Menara Kuala Lumpur (KL Tower), the seventh tallest telecommunication tower in the world, will be lit up in the colours of Tajikistan\u2019s national flag on Thursday to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Tajikistan\u2019s Independence Day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The display will start from 8 pm to 9 pm, Tajikistan\u2019s Embassy in Malaysia said in a statement to Bernama here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSeeing Menara Kuala Lumpur, the seventh-tallest communications tower in the world, embellished in red, white and green lights signifying the national flag of Tajikistan will be a wonderful gift for Tajik citizens who currently live in Malaysia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis feat will be remembered for a long time and will make a great contribution to strengthening the friendship and mutual understanding between the people of Malaysia and Tajikistan,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tajikistan diplomatic missions abroad would usually hold official receptions and gatherings to mark this important day, which is dedicated to the adoption of a resolution proclaiming the independence of the Republic of Tajikistan. The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the movement control order currently put in place in Malaysia had prevented such celebrations to be held, it said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c30 years ago, on the 9th of September 1991, at the session of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Tajikistan, a resolution of independence was adopted, and the state of the Republic of Tajikistan as an independent, democratic, and law-abiding one was declared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
By virtue of the state\u2019s independence as well as the establishment of peace and tranquility, political stability and strengthened national unity, the Tajik nation has achieved significant achievements over the last 30 years under the outstanding leadership of President Emomali Rahmon, it further said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The leadership of Tajikistan managed to preserve its statehood and territorial integrity, and despite the most difficult challenges, it managed to form an independent state, and to become a full member of the United Nations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The statement pointed out that at present, the world community recognises Tajikistan as a leading state in solving urgent global issues and in pursuing a balanced and consistent foreign policy based on an \u201copen door\u201d principle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tajikistan has established diplomatic relations with Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and other countries of the Southeast Asian region, as well as Australia and New Zealand, since 1992.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
