{"id":12723,"date":"2019-03-07T14:30:12","date_gmt":"2019-03-07T06:30:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=12723"},"modified":"2019-03-07T14:31:35","modified_gmt":"2019-03-07T06:31:35","slug":"chinas-huawei-files-lawsuit-against-us-over-product-ban","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=12723","title":{"rendered":"China&#8217;s Huawei files lawsuit against US over product ban"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"615\" src=\"http:\/\/www.namnewsnetwork.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/huawei-1024x615.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-12725\" srcset=\"http:\/\/namnewsnetwork.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/huawei-1024x615.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/namnewsnetwork.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/huawei-300x180.jpg 300w, http:\/\/namnewsnetwork.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/huawei-768x461.jpg 768w, http:\/\/namnewsnetwork.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/huawei-600x360.jpg 600w, http:\/\/namnewsnetwork.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/huawei.jpg 1839w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Beijing, March 7\u00a0(NNN-AGENCIES)\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0Embattled Chinese telecommunications giant Huawei said Thursday it had a filed a lawsuit against the US\u00a0government to challenge a law banning government agencies from using the company&#8217;s products over security concerns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rotating chairman Guo Ping said at the company&#8217;s headquarters in Shenzhen that the law signed by US President Donald Trump &#8220;not only is unlawful, but also restricts Huawei from engaging in fair competition, ultimately harming US consumers.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The lawsuit was filed at a US District Court in Plano, Texas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The US &#8220;has repeatedly failed to produce any evidence to support its restrictions on Huawei products,&#8221; Guo said. &#8220;We are compelled to take this legal action as a proper and last resort.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The tensions surrounding Huawei have put US-China relations under further strain in recent months, just as the countries are waging a prolonged trade war.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In Canada, a court is currently considering a request from the US for the extradition of Huawei chief financial officer Meng Wanzhou, the daughter of the company&#8217;s founder Ren Zhengfei.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The US accuses her, Huawei, a US subsidiary and telecom equipment seller Skycom of committing bank fraud, wire fraud and conspiracy to commit money laundering.
