KUALA LUMPUR, April 8 (NNN-Bernama) — China regards Malaysia as a trusted partner in development, and the strong friendship built between both nations should be further enhanced, China’s Ambassador to Malaysia Ouyang Yujing (right) said Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said Malaysia and China\u2019s ties is based on strong foundation, and the close cooperation could be seen in various fields.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cFor example, Malaysia is China\u2019s good partner in the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). According to our statistics, the biggest BRI project in the world is in Malaysia. That is the ECRL (East Coast Rail Link),\u201d he said during his visit to the Malaysian National News Agency\u2019s (BERNAMA) headquarters here, Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He noted that Malaysia also has the best of China, including the Xiamen University, the only campus outside China, situated in Sepang, Selangor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The ambassador, who arrived at Wisma Bernama with four other embassy representatives, was greeted by Bernama\u2019s Chief Executive Officer Mokhtar Hussain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ouyang also met with Bernama\u2019s chairman Senator Ras Adiba Radzi (left) before proceeding to an hour-long discussion and briefing with the agency\u2019s top officials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Also at the meeting was Bernama\u2019s Editor-in-Chief Abdul Rahman Ahmad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The delegation later toured Bernama\u2019s Digital Media department and Bernama News Channel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI feel fortunate to be posted to Malaysia as both countries enjoy deep political trust, close cooperation, and deep affinity of people from both sides,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Ambassador said Malaysia and the rest of the world are set to benefit from the implementation of China\u2019s 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025) for National Economic and Social Development, which was passed during the \u201cTwo Sessions\u2019 held last March.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On another note, Ouyang and Bernama\u2019s top officials also discussed the opportunity to collaborate further on news and journalist exchanges, leveraging on the importance of digital media as a catalyst to spur digital economy in both countries. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
