{"id":11120,"date":"2019-02-28T12:12:13","date_gmt":"2019-02-28T04:12:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=11120"},"modified":"2019-02-28T12:12:14","modified_gmt":"2019-02-28T04:12:14","slug":"malaysias-former-dpm-ahmad-zahids-case-transferred-to-high-court","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=11120","title":{"rendered":"Malaysia\u2019s former DPM Ahmad Zahid&#8217;s case transferred to high court"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 28 (NNN- Bernama) \u2014 The Sessions Court here today transferred the case of UMNO president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who is facing 47 charges involving millions of ringgit belonging to Yayasan Akalbudi, to the High Court.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" src=\"http:\/\/www.namnewsnetwork.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/zahid.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-9639\" srcset=\"http:\/\/namnewsnetwork.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/zahid.jpg 640w, http:\/\/namnewsnetwork.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/zahid-300x200.jpg 300w, http:\/\/namnewsnetwork.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/zahid-555x370.jpg 555w, http:\/\/namnewsnetwork.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/zahid-600x400.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Judge Rozina Ayob transferred the case after the prosecution, conducted by deputy public prosecutor from the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), Ahmad Sazilee Abdul Khairi , informed her that the High Court had allowed the application by the defence to transfer the case from the Sessions Court to the High Court.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe application was heard before High Court judge Mohamed Zaini Mazlan last Feb 21 and was allowed, but the mention date at the High Court has not been set,\u201d he said when the case came up for mention today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ahmad Sazilee also informed the court that the prosecution had handed over more than 300 documents on the case to the defence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOnly several documents, including cheques from several banks, have yet to be handed over, but they will be given soon,\u201d he added.\n\n<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 28 (NNN- Bernama) \u2014 The Sessions Court here today transferred the case of UMNO president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who is facing 47 charges involving millions of ringgit belonging to Yayasan Akalbudi, to the High Court.
