{"id":109061,"date":"2021-01-08T15:26:37","date_gmt":"2021-01-08T07:26:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=109061"},"modified":"2021-01-08T15:26:40","modified_gmt":"2021-01-08T07:26:40","slug":"singapore-pm-lee-gets-his-first-dose-of-pfizer-biontech-covid-19-vaccine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=109061","title":{"rendered":"Singapore PM Lee Gets His First Dose Of Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>By Massita Ahmad<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SINGAPORE, Jan 8 (NNN-Bernama) &#8212; Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong received his first dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lee in his Facebook said he got it together with the republic\u2019s Ministry of Health (MOH) Director of Medical Services Associate Professor Kenneth Mak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe got vaccinated early to show Singaporeans that we are confident that the vaccine is safe and effective,\u201d wrote the prime minister.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He appended his posting with a video of him taking the jab at Singapore General Hospital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cProf Mak and I were monitored for 30 minutes after the jab, just in case we developed any side effects, e.g. allergic reactions. Happy to report that we both felt fine,\u201d he wrote further.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lee also noted that the republic had begun vaccinating healthcare workers from public healthcare institutions today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe aim to start vaccinating elderly people from February, and then other Singaporeans and long-term residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cVaccinations are voluntary, but I hope that when it\u2019s your turn, you will go for it.
