PUTRAJAYA, Dec 3 (Bernama) — The decision of the Special\nMuzakarah Committee Meeting on the use of the COVID-19 vaccine among Muslims in\nMalaysia is expected to be known Friday, said Minister in the Prime Minister’s\nDepartment (Religious Affairs) Dr Zulkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said the 10th Special Muzakarah Committee Meeting of the\nthe National Council for Malaysian Islamic Affairs was taking place Thursday in\nPutrajaya to discuss the use of the COVID-19 vaccine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The meeting is attended by muftis and members appointed by\nthe Conference of Rulers as well as representatives of the Ministry of Health,\nhe said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“We will look at all aspects, including from the\nMinistry of Health and the mufti’s point of view,” he told a press\nconference after presenting appointment letters to 52 new research officers\nfrom the Federal Territory Mufti’s Office here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Zulkifli said the outcome of the meeting would be presented\nto the Malaysian King Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin\nAl-Mustafa Billah Shah, and the Conference of Rulers for their consent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Commenting on the halal status of chicken meat created from\nanimal cells and produced in bioreactors which had been approved for sale in\nSingapore, Zulkifli said the matter would be studied and discussed before any\ndecision is made.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (Jakim) will\nalso seek the views of the country\u2019s Office of Mufti on the matter, he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
