All&nbsp;the quarantine\nflouters worked at Tachileik province in Myanmar.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the latest development, six Thai women,&nbsp;aged between\n21 and 36,&nbsp;sneaked into&nbsp;the kingdom in the northern province of\nChiang Rai last week and tested positive for COVID-19 days later. Some of them\nhad travelled to Bangkok and other provinces.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Disease Control Department director&nbsp;Dr Sophon\nIamsirithawon said all the new cases entered&nbsp;Thailand via Chiang Rai\u2019s Mae\nSai district and dodged compulsory quarantine.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said&nbsp;the new cases included&nbsp;two\nwomen,&nbsp;aged 21 and 25 and&nbsp;working&nbsp;at a hotel in Tachileik\nprovince, who entered the kingdom via Mae Sai&nbsp;land border and later flew\nto Bangkok and Phitsanulok.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThey were tested positive for COVID-19&nbsp;on Sunday and\nTuesday,\u201d he said at a press conference Thursday.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Besides that, Dr Sophon said a&nbsp;36-year-old Thai woman\nwho worked in Myanmar sneaked into the kingdom and later caught a flight from\nChiang Mai to Bangkok,&nbsp;before travelling by bus to Ratchaburi.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cShe went to a private hospital for COVID-19 test after\nlearning one of her friends had tested positive,\u201d he said.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The other new&nbsp;cases included&nbsp;two women aged 23 and\n25, who lived in Chiang Mai and were friends of a confirmed case, and a\n28-year-old woman who worked at a hotel in the Tachileik border town.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, Public Health Ministry&nbsp;deputy permanent\nsecretary Dr Thongchai Keeratihatayakorn said close contacts of the 10\npatients&nbsp;have undergo&nbsp;screening and tested negative for\nCOVID-19.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cNo local transmission has been reported thus far,\u201d he\nsaid.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To date, Thailand has recorded 4,026 COVID-19 cases with 60\nfatalities.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8212; BERNAMA<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>BANGKOK, Dec 3 (Bernama) &#8212;&nbsp;Another six Thai nationals who skipped quarantine after sneaking into Thailand from Myanmar via natural border crossings have tested positive for&nbsp;COVID-19.
