{"id":104329,"date":"2020-12-03T14:03:58","date_gmt":"2020-12-03T06:03:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=104329"},"modified":"2020-12-03T14:04:00","modified_gmt":"2020-12-03T06:04:00","slug":"another-15-suspects-in-fatal-border-shooting-case-remanded","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=104329","title":{"rendered":"Another 15 Suspects in Fatal Border Shooting Case Remanded"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>KANGAR (Perlis, Malaysia) Dec 3 (Bernama) &#8212; Another 15\nlocal men have been remanded for seven days starting today to facilitate into\nthe shootout between the General Operations Force (GOF) members and groups of\nsmugglers at the&nbsp;Malaysia-Thailand border near Padang Besar last week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The remand order against them was issued by Kangar High\nCourt assistant registrar Siti Nor Hasliza Md Ali.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All of them, aged between&nbsp;20 and 40, were handcuffed\nwhen they were taken by the police to the court at 10.05 am.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAlso remanded today is another suspect who is receiving\ntreatment at the Tuanku Fauziah Hospital,\u201d Perlis Police chief&nbsp;Surina Saad\ntold Bernama when contacted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the record, a total of 37 suspects had been arrested to\nfacilitate investigations into the case under&nbsp;Section 302 and 307 of the\nPenal Code for murder and attempted murder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A GOF member Corporal Baharuddin Ramli, 54, was killed,\nwhile his colleague, Corporal&nbsp;Norihan a\/l Tari, 39, severely\ninjured&nbsp;during the shootout with the smugglers about 600m from the Border\nWall TS9 control post in Padang Besar on Nov 24.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8212; BERNAMA<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KANGAR (Perlis, Malaysia) Dec 3 (Bernama) &#8212; Another 15 local men have been remanded for seven days starting today to facilitate into the shootout between the General Operations Force (GOF) members and groups of smugglers at the&nbsp;Malaysia-Thailand border near Padang Besar last week.
