Morocco Reports Highest Single-Day Rise Of 5,745 COVID-19 Cases

RABAT, Nov 5 (NNN-MAP) – Morocco reported yesterday, 5,745 new COVID-19 cases, the highest daily spike since the start of the outbreak.

According to the new data, published by the ministry of health, Morocco now has a total of 235,310 cases, and 3,982 people have died from the virus, including 82 new deaths in the past 24 hours.

The total number of recoveries increased to 193,886 after 3,977 new ones were added, while 886 patients are in intensive care units, the ministry of health said.

Casablanca remains the worst-hit region in the country, with 2,478 newly confirmed cases and 26 deaths during the last 24 hours.

Moroccan Prime Minister, Saad Eddine El Othmani warned, in a parliamentary session that, returning to total lockdown is a possible option if the COVID-19 spread becomes uncontrollable.

“None of us want a return to total lockdown, but it remains an option, if the epidemiological situation becomes uncontrollable,” he said.– NNN-MAP
