Explosion In NW Pakistan’s Seminary Leaves Four Killed, 35 Injured

ISLAMABAD, Oct 27 (NNN-APP) – At least four kids were killed and 35 others, including children were injured, when a bomb went off inside a seminary in the capital city Peshawar, of Pakistan’s north-west Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province this morning, local media and police said.

Some unknown militants placed an improvised explosive device inside the seminary and detonated it while fleeing, Senior Superintendent of City Police in Peshawar, Waqar Ahmad, told media.

A large number of students inside the seminary were attending their routine morning classes when the explosion happened, inside one of the halls of the institution.

The injured were shifted to the Lady Reading Hospital, where a state of emergency has been declared. The hospital’s spokesperson said that, several of the injured are in critical condition.

Further investigation into the incident is being made and rescue operation is also underway.
