BEIJING, Oct 27 (NNN-XINHUA) – War film “The Sacrifice” saw its total Chinese box office surpass 300 million yuan (nearly 45 million U.S. dollars).
Set during the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea (1950-1953), the film was co-directed by Guan Hu, the director of this year’s blockbuster war epic “The Eight Hundred.”
“The Sacrifice” topped Sunday’s daily box office chart, grossing more than 105 million yuan. That brought the film’s total box office revenues, since its Oct 23 release, to 347 million yuan, per figures compiled by the China Movie Data Information Network.
Anthology comedy “My People, My Homeland” and animated feature “Jiang Ziya: Legend of Deification” ranked second and third, respectively, generating 22 million yuan and serven million yuan.
Sunday also saw the total box office of “My People, My Homeland,” which was released on Oct 1, China’s National Day, hit 2.6 billion yuan.– NNN-XINHUA
