ALGIERS, Oct 25 (NNN-APS) – A woman and her daughter were killed, in a landmine explosion yesterday, in the province of Ain Defla in Algeria, according to local media.
The explosion occurred in the town of Bouarus of Ain Defla, some 150 km north-west of the capital, Algiers, Al Nahar newspaper reported on its website on Saturday.
The same source stated that, the explosion was caused by a home-made bomb near the house of the victims, a 67-year-old woman and her 42-year-old daughter.
It indicated that the bomb was from “the period of terrorism in the 1990’s,” when anti-government armed groups planted thousands of mines and other explosives in remote areas in the country.– NNN-APS
