YANGON, Myanmar, Feb 21 (NNN-MNA) – Myanmar is planning to hold an international agrimach expo in Yangon early next month, to showcase agro equipment, latest innovation in technology, fertiliser and input, the official Global New Light of Myanmar reported today (Thursday).
Scheduled for Mar 1 to 3, the expo will be joined by exhibitors from Japan, Italy, Switzerland, India, China, South Korea and Thailand, the Myanmar Paddy Producers Association (MPPA) was quoted as saying.
These countries will display items such as, farm equipment, value-adding technology, agro-products and input, said MPPA, which is the organiser of the expo.
The aim of the expo is to mark Myanmar Peasants’ Day, falling on Mar 2, and help build connections with international participants, hold demonstrations, business-to-business matching and display latest agro-based machinery.
In addition, educative talks, seminars and performances will be attached to the expo.
The expo will feature 80 stalls from 40 local and foreign companies.
Myanmar is implementing a three-year master plan (2018-2021), for development of agriculture in Yangon region, worked out by agricultural organisations and experts.
The master plan includes 22 agricultural development projects under government-private partnership and is designed to create more than 6,000 job opportunities, officials said.– NNN-MNA
