BAGHDAD, Oct 24 (NNN-NINA) – Four Daesh militants and two paramilitary Hashd Shaabi members were killed yesterday, in bomb attacks in Salahudin province north of Baghdad, the Iraqi military said.
The militants were killed when a roadside bomb went off near their vehicle, the media office of the Iraqi Joint Operations Command, said in a statement, without further details.
Also in the province, another roadside bomb struck in the morning, a Hashd Shaabi vehicle in al-Eith area, near the town of Himreen, in the east of the provincial capital Tikrit, some 170 km north of Baghdad, Mohammed Khalil al-Bazi, from Salahudin’s provincial police, said.
The blast destroyed the vehicle and killed two Hashd Shaabi members aboard, al-Bazi said.
The two were inspecting combat positions when the attack occurred, he added.
The attack came, as the militants intensified attacks on security forces and civilians in the formerly Daesh-controlled provinces, resulting in the killing and wounding of dozens.– NNN-NINA
