CAIRO, Oct 24 (NNN-MENA) – Egypt naval forces rescued a boat with Turkish flag, in the Mediterranean Sea, the armed forces said in a statement, yesterday.
“The boat sent a distress signal on Thursday, that it encountered a technical failure 260 km north of the city of Sidi Barrani, on the north coast of Egypt,” the statement said.
The forces then sent the Egyptian frigate “Al-Zafer,” to the site of the accident.
They managed to evacuate 57 people on board the boat, it added.
The passengers received necessary medical treatment, at the Naval Base in Jarjoub, on the border with Libya, the statement added.– NNN-MENA
