YANGON, Oct 20 (NNN-MNA) – Myanmar authorities have seized 39 kg of methamphetamine (ICE), in Shan state, according to a press release issued by the Military True News Information Team, on Monday.
According to the release, a joint security force made a seizure in Mong Hsat township on Saturday.
The contraband, worth 780 million kyats ( 600,000 U.S. dollars), were seized from a car.
The seized narcotic drugs were transferred systematically to the concerned authorities, and further investigation is underway to capture suspects who fled the scene, the release said.
According to a press release, issued by the President’s Office on Monday, a total of 1,377 drug-related cases were registered across Myanmar, while 2,101 people were charged in connection with the cases as of Oct 17 this year, since the formation of the Drug Activity Special Complaint Department on June 26, 2018.– NNN-MNA
