ISLAMABAD, Oct 20 (NNN-APP) – Six people were killed, in a road accident in Umerkot district of Pakistan’s southern Sindh province, on Monday, according to local media.
The accident happened when a car, carrying the deceased, hit into a trailer coming from the opposite direction, at a main highway, local media reported, adding that, the killed people were from the same family, who were returning home after meeting relatives.
The cause of the accident is being determined, but the initial probe by police indicated that overspeeding of the car resulted in the accident.
The car was completely destroyed in the accident, and bodies were recovered by rescue teams after cutting its doors, the report said.
Road accidents frequently happen in Pakistan, mainly due to poorly maintained vehicles, dilapidated roads and negligence of road safety measures.– NNN-APP
