New Zealand Reports Three New Cases Of COVID-19 On Election Day, Today

WELLINGTON, Oct 17 (NNN-AGENCIES) – New Zealand reported three new cases of COVID-19 today, said the Ministry of Health in a statement.

According to the ministry, all three cases were imported ones, detected in managed isolation facilities. The first case arrived from Britain via Singapore on Oct 9. The second and third imported cases arrived from the United Arab Emirates, on Oct 13.

The total number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in New Zealand reached 1,527, which was the number the country reported to the World Health Organisation.

The total number of active cases is 40, none is active community cases. There is no one in hospital with COVID-19, said the ministry.

Laboratories across New Zealand processed 4,794 more tests, bringing the total number of tests completed to date to 1,026,725.

New Zealand is currently on COVID-19 Alert Level 1. Today, Saturday, is also election day for New Zealand’s 2020 General Election and referendums.– NNN-AGENCIES
