ISLAMABAD, Oct 15 (NNN-PPI) – Pakistan Coast Guards (PCG), and the army, recovered ice heroin worth millions of U.S. dollars, during a joint operation in the country’s southwest Balochistan province, the PCG said.
The armed forces conducted a raid, at the mountainous terrain of Pasni district, of the province and recovered 99 kg of high-quality ice heroin from camels, apparently carrying packaged goods, the statement said.
The cost of the drugs in the international market is about three billion Pakistani rupees (about 18 million U.S. dollars), and they were being transferred to some foreign country, via the sea route, said the statement.
The law enforcers arrested the camel owner, who was suspected to be a smuggler and further investigations are being made from him.
The PCG said that, they have enhanced raids and patrolling along the coastal areas, on directives of the country’s Prime Minister, Imran Khan, to stop drug trafficking.– NNN-PPI
