NEW DELHI, Oct 13 (NNN-PTI) – The seventh meeting of ministers of justice of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) member countries, will be hosted by India’s Law Minister, Ravi Shankar Prasad, on Oct 16, officials said yesterday.
“In the meeting, member states will deliberate on areas of cooperation, creating favourable conditions for resolving disputes; and implementation of the action plan of the working groups of experts on forensic activities and legal service,” said a statement issued by India’s ministry of law and justice.
The ministry said, Anoop Kumar Mendiratta, secretary of the department of legal affairs of the ministry, will also host the second meeting of the experts working group today and tomorrow.
Both the meetings will be conducted through videoconferencing mode.
“The experts working group will discuss and share their experiences, best practices and the novel steps taken by them for creating conducive environment for promoting resolution of disputes and other related activities of the ministries of (Law and) Justice, including legal services and forensic activities,” the statement said.
According to the ministry, apart from India, law ministers and senior officials from Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan will be participating in the meeting.– NNN-PTI
