Lebanon’s COVID-19 Cases Exceed 50,000

BEIRUT, Oct 10 (NNN-NNA) – Lebanon’s number of COVID-19 cases increased on Friday by 1,426 to 51,170, while the death toll went up by 11 to 450, the Health Ministry said.

Caretaker Health Minister, Hamad Hassan, said, private hospitals will soon open departments for the fight against COVID-19, to offer needed services to an increasing number of infected patients, according to his agreement with President of the Syndicate of Private Hospitals, Suleiman Haroun.

“We also have a plan to secure 20 additional beds weekly in public hospitals,” he added.

Lebanon has been fighting against COVID-19 since Feb 21.

On Sept 9, China offered about 10,000 N95 masks, 100,000 medical masks, 100,000 gloves and 6,000 PCR rapid testing kits.– NNN-NNA
