NUR-SULTAN, Oct 10 (NNN-AGENCIES) – The presidents of four Central Asian countries, on Friday, expressed serious concern over the political crisis in Kyrgyzstan, in a joint statement and called for peace and stability in the country.
“We, as close neighbours, bound by centuries-old ties of friendship, good neighbourliness, common cultural and spiritual values, call on the people of Kyrgyzstan, in these difficult days, to show their inherent wisdom, in order to maintain peace and restore stability in the country,” the presidents of Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan said in the statement.
The joint statement was published on the website of the President of Kazakhstan.
“We express the hope that all political parties and public circles of Kyrgyzstan will make the necessary efforts, to ensure peace and tranquillity, to resolve the issues that have arisen with the indispensable observance of the Constitution and national legislation,” it said.
The leaders said, prosperity of Kyrgyzstan is an important factor in regional security and sustainable development of the entire Central Asian region.
“Moving along the path of further strengthening Central Asian solidarity, we will always support the people of Kyrgyzstan in their strive for unity, and peaceful, independent development and prosperity,” said the statement.
