NEW DELHI, Sept 21 (NNN-PTI) – The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in India this morning, rose to 5,487,580, India’s federal health ministry said.
During the past 24 hours, 86,961 new cases were reported from across the country and 1,130 more deaths were also recorded.
According to ministry officials, 4,396,399 people have been discharged from hospitals after showing improvement.
“The number of active cases in the country right now is 1,003,299,” the information released by the ministry further reads.
Meanwhile, 64,392,594 samples were tested so far, across the country, out of which 731,534 tests were conducted on Sunday alone, Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said today.
Globally India is the second worst-hit country after the United States due to the COVID-19 pandemic.– NNN-PTI
