KOTA BHARU, Sept 20 (NNN-BERNAMA) — A total of 150 unique cartoons with the theme “Cintai Warisan Kita” (Love Our Heritage) by cartoonists from various countries are currently on display at the International Cartoon Exhibition Malaysia 2020 at the Kelantan Art Gallery here.
Kelantan Community Unity, Culture, Heritage and Tourism Committee chairman Major (R) Datuk Md Anizam Ab Rahman said a total of 400 artworks were submitted by cartoonists from 44 countries via online.
“Each participant submits entries via the competition website, and the winners have been decided by the jury last July and of the total, only 150 artworks have been selected to be exhibited at the Kelantan Art Gallery until the end of this month.
“A participant from Indonesia, Jilet Kustana, 53, won the competition while second place went to Liang Weichi, 46, from China and Makhmudjon Eshonqulov, 62, from Uzbekistan secured third place,” he told reporters after launching the exhibition here today.
International Cartoon Exhibition Malaysia 2020, which started on Aug 1 and ends Sept 30, is organised by the art gallery in collaboration with the Kelantan Museum Corporation.
