KABUL, Sept 20 (NNN-AGENCIES) – A teenage girl was killed and 25 civilians wounded, in two bomb explosions in Afghanistan yesterday, provincial officials confirmed.
In northern Balkh province, the girl was killed and five people, including two children, were wounded after an Improvised Explosive Device (IED), planted on the side of a traffic circle, was detonated in the provincial capital, Mazar-i-Sharif city, late in the evening, Adel Shah Adel, provincial police spokesman, said.
In eastern Paktika province, 20 civilians, aboard a tractor, were wounded after the vehicle touched off an IED planted along a dusty road, in Jani Khil district, Shah Mohammad Arian from the provincial police said.
The victims were travelling to attend a wedding in a village in the mountainous region.
Officials blamed Taliban for planting the IEDs. The Taliban outfit, however, did not respond to the report.– NNN-AGENCIES
