Mongolia, ADB Sign 3.5- Million-USD Grant Agreements

ULAN BATOR, Sept 16 (NNN-MONGOLIAWEB) – Mongolia and the Asian Development Bank (ADB), yesterday, signed two agreements of 3.5 million U.S. dollars, to help the country respond to the COVID-19 pandemic and improve the quality of its education, Mongolian Finance Minister, Khurelbaatar Chimed, said.

The agreements were signed by Chimed and Pavit Ramachandran, ADB’s country director for Mongolia.

A total of 1.5 million U.S. dollars of the grant will be spent on purchasing medical devices, used to diagnose and treat COVID-19, said Chimed.

The other two million U.S. dollars will be used to build four schools and four kindergartens, in the Songinokhairkhan district, of the Mongolian capital, Ulan Bator, and three other provinces, namely Darkhan-Uul, Dundgovi and Dornod, to provide disabled children with better access to quality education, according to the finance minister.– NNN-MONGOLIAWEB
